Chapter Philanthropy

Philanthropy holds a very special place in the hearts of each Phi Mu at Mercer University. Alpha Iota hosts philanthropy events for other chapters, Mercer students, and even Mercer faculty to attend and prides herself to the many accomplishments she has achieved! Our campus philanthropy supports Beverly Knight Olson hospital, which is just down the road from Mercer’s Campus. This provides the incredibly unique opportunity for our sisters to visit and volunteer at the hospital that their fundraising efforts benefit.

In the fall Phi Mu hosts a benefit concert called Bonnamu, and all of the proceeds from tickets go towards Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. In the spring we put a variety of events as well as participating in events put on by other organizations. Our favorite events include Alpha Tau Omega's Camp for a Cause where we get the opportunity to raise money for our own philanthropy. We also love participating in MU Miracle's Dance Marathon every year where we get to raise money for the patients at the Children's Miracle Network Hospital! Last year, we raised approximately $25,000 for Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, surpassing our fundraising goal! Phi Mu Alpha Iota loves the kids and has a passion for service that continues to grow year by year!

Sisters love working and volunteering with other philanthropies and at community events, and in the 2019-2020 school year, sisters volunteered at many places such as:
